"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:  and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.  Amen.

Robert Talley was born on March 19 on an Air Force Base in Clovis, NM.  Soon afterwards, his father was saved and with his already saved wife joined a Baptist Church.

After Robert's dad got out of the Air Force, the Talleys moved back home to North Alabama.  They were active in establishing a Christian home through family devotions and being an example before their eight children.  In this atmosphere, it is easy to understand why Robert believed in Christ as a child in October 1971 at Daniel's Chapel Baptist Church in Eva, AL.

At age 16, Robert announced his call to preach.  After high school, he attended Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, TN.  He graduated with a B. Re. in Missions in May 1988.

While at TTU, Robert met and later married Dawn Patricia St. Onge.  She was born in Haverhill, MA to unsaved parents.  In 1971, through the efforts of Baptist Mid-Mission's missionaries Edgar and Oleta Mitchell, Dawn, her parents, and her older sister were saved in Plaistow, NH.

During high school, Dawn announced her call to the mission field.  After a summer missions trip in Portugal, she began attending TTU.  She graduated with an A.A. in Missions in May 1987.

While still in college, Robert and Dawn were married in East Kingston, NH.  They have been members of their home church, Temple Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN since August 1987.

That Fall, through praying for a Baptist Mid-Missions missionary in Austria, Martha Jongewaard, Robert and Dawn recognized God's leading to the field of Austria.  They applied to Baptist Mid-Missions and were accepted as appointees to Austria in July 1988.

After deputation, they began language school in Munich, Germany in March 1992, finishing in July 1993.  They began working under Ted and Becky Fletchall in the Stubai Valley south of Innsbruck, Austria in September 1993.  During their time there, their son, Philip, was born.

In February 1995, after almost two years of pryaer for East Germany, Robert and Dawn recognized God's leading to East Berlin.

Robert and Dawn Talley have been in Berlin, Germany since January 1997 and are involved with Tim and Shelli Brudtkuhl in a pioneer church planting work in the northeast section of the city.  Bridge building and seed sowing are the emphasis of the work, with the aim of first winning some to Christ, discipling them, and starting a church.  In a city of over 3.5 million people, there is only one known Independent Baptist Church.  There is much work to be done and many more workers are needed than are currently available.
